What you should know about
operating any motorized vehicle,
where they may be driven, and the
associated hazards of that activity!

1. Check with your local Police Department
for local requirements, licensing and registration of your
bicycle/scooter/motorcycle. Licensing varies from state to state. These vehicles are for use on your own private
property and are not intended for use on Public roads or anywhere other than
your own personal property unless allowed by your local Police Department. 2.
Vehicles of this type can be extremely dangerous and if ridden should be
ridden with the full knowledge and understanding that one can incur bodily
harm due to carelessness or failure of mechanical parts (i.e. If you ride these
vehicles you do so with the full knowledge and awareness of the dangers
involved). 3. Helmet, goggles, hand gloves, elbow and
kneepads, appropriate shoes, and bright colored clothing should always be
worn to reduce the potential for injury. 4.
Rain, snow, oily patches, unpaved surfaces, uneven surfaces, potholes,
surface cracks all set the stage for very dangerous conditions when riding
your bicycle/scooter/motorcycle and should be avoided under all
circumstances. 5.
Under no circumstances should passengers be carried. 6.
When riding, the operator should take full advantage of the entire riding
surface provided for safety reasons. 7.
Never pull or tow anything or anyone behind your bicycle/scooter/motorcycle. 8. If
you are pregnant, drinking alcohol, taking any substance that can cause
drowsiness or dizziness one should not be operating a bicycle/scooter/motorcycle.
9.
Never allow a minor to operate a bicycle/scooter/motorcycle without adult
supervision and approval. 10. High speeds, jumps, and trick maneuvering
are very dangerous and should be avoided under all circumstances. 11. One need lean forward when accelerating or
climbing hills and backwards when breaking. 12. Front wheel brakes should be used properly
and cautiously because improper usage will result in your
bicycle/scooter/motorcycle turning over and possibly causing serious injuries
to the operator. 13. Avoid operating your
bicycle/scooter/motorcycle in the rain, snow, through puddles or exposure to
extreme moist conditions to avoid damage to the motor, battery, controls, and
the prevention of an electric shock condition arising. 14. Where and whenever possible the engine
shut off switch can be used for emergency conditions, such as brake failure,
to bring the bicycle/scooter/motorcycle to a safe stop. 15. Whenever possible handlebar height should
be adjusted, so that the operator’s hand can easily grasp the handlebar
controls, and that the operator’s feet can be placed securely on the foot
surface provided. 16. No one
should operate a bicycle/scooter/motorcycle without the permission and
